Youth Sponsors Needed!
The Chorale is actively looking for individual and corporate sponsors for its young artists scholarship program. Young Artist Vocal Scholarship Competition Winner
Scott Thomas Callister excels in just about every endeavor of life.
Scott is this year’s Young Artist Vocal Scholarship winner for Chorale Coeur d’ Alene.
He’s also:
* A commended student in the National Merit Scholarship program.
* A graduate of Post Falls High School with highest honors.
* A first-place winner in district solo and ensemble music competition this year and last.
Scott has been honing his musical talent as a student of Gaynell Coppess for the past two years, as a member of Chorale Coeur d’ Alene and the Post Falls High School Troubadours.
His parents, Carolyn and Don Callister, instilled an early love of music by taking him - sometimes reluctantly at first - to choral concerts starting at about age 4.
Don Callister is a long-time member of Chorale Coeur d’ Alene, a leader in the tenor section.
Scott has been accepted at Brigham Young University, Idaho, but he first plans to serve a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Young Artist Vocal Scholarship Competition
Chorale Coeur d'Alene is delighted to again sponsor the Young Artist Vocal Scholarship Competition (YAVSC) aimed at recognizing and encouraging talented 9th – 12th grade high school singers from the Inland Northwest. A big thank you to Coeur d'Alene Tribe for supporting the Young Artists Program.
High School music instructors and private voice coaches receive informational materials in early autumn so interested high school applicants may be considered for live auditions. Each of up to two students may be selected as $300 Scholarship recipients by a team of Chorale evaluators. Winners are announced at the December concerts and additionally receive complimentary concert tickets and membership in the Chorale’s spring term.
As we seek to create an endowment to fund YAVSC scholarships, we welcome “Giving Partners” for this purpose. Gifts may be made to Chorale Coeur d'Alene. Click here to contact us and learn how you can sponsor a youth, or how your company can sponsor various youth programs.
